Message from the Live4It Community Leader
Amanda Reed Myers
As the Leader of Live4It Community, I have the honor and privilege of sharing our nonprofit’s mission and impact. Live4It Community is an independent 501(c)3 guided by a dedicated Board of Directors made up of esteemed community leaders. As one of the founding architects of Live4It, I am deeply grateful to help lead this organization through its inaugural years.
Our community’s embrace of Live4It — and its willingness to rally around a shared vision for health and wellness — continues to inspire me. It’s a joy to see this movement come to life right here in the place we proudly call home.
Where It All Began
Live4It started as a “heart thing” — born from a deep desire to make a difference in the longevity and well-being of those we love. We had only just launched in late 2019 when COVID-19 changed all our lives. Though our attention shifted, our commitment never wavered. We knew Live4It was a long-term initiative — one rooted in hope, perseverance, and purpose.
Life is precious, and the reasons we live for — our “It” — can inspire us to live longer, healthier, and happier lives.
Though today’s health trends are challenging, we believe that by connecting hearts and minds — uniting our individual “whys” with a shared understanding of “how” — we can change the trajectory of health and wellness for generations to come.
Collaboration Creates Change
This mission can’t be achieved in silos. Our community is full of caring individuals, generous employers, and compassionate organizations.
But lasting change requires collaboration — shared language, shared action, and a common purpose that unites our efforts. Every organization that joins contributes in a unique way, and we’re proud to highlight those partnerships across our site and outreach.
Annual Spark
Unifying the Message
Each year, we simplify the language of wellness and rally around a single spark that’s launched at the Bill Gregory Health Care Classic and reinforced all year through toolkits, pop-ups, and storytelling.
Cornerstone Event
Bill Gregory Health Care Classic
Restarted in 2023 after a pandemic pause, the Classic honors a four-decade legacy while bringing new energy. In 2024 we launched our first Annual Spark: “What Are You Living For?”
Community Stories & Recognition
The Classic is becoming a true Community Day of Health, sparking conversations in workplaces, homes and hearts. In 2024 we introduced the Heart of Gold Award, and in 2025 we recognized our first Live4It Heroes – individuals who go above and beyond to serve others and create a healthier community.
Many people believe the health outcomes of their parents or grandparents are inevitable. But research shows more than 70% of longevity is shaped by lifestyle and environment, not genetics.
Looking Ahead: The 70/30 Journey
In 2025, our new Annual Spark — “Live the 70 / Defy the 30” — focuses on small, daily “its” that can rewrite that narrative. As I like to say:
“Rewrite your DNA with DNA 2.0 — Daily Navigating Actions — to Live the 70!”
Together, We Can Live-4-It
Whether you’re an individual, school, employer, faith-based, civic, or service organization — you have a role in this movement. Friends, families, and neighbors helping one another identify what matters most — their “It” — and finding ways to truly Live-4-It.
We have a heart for this community. The health and well-being of our people must remain a priority if we are to thrive for generations to come. Because when you are healthy for what matters most to you — we all benefit.
