History of the Race
The Bill Gregory Health Care Classic (BGHCC) is more than just a race, it is a symbol of our community’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyle changes. Since its inception in 1981 by Hamilton Medical Center, this event has become a cornerstone of our community and one of the most highly anticipated gatherings. Today, the annual event honors Dr. Bill Gregory, who tragically lost his life in a bicycling accident in June 2006. Dr. Gregory was passionate about caring for his patients and promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles. Over the years, the Bill Gregory Health Care Classic has evolved into a beloved tradition, continuing the important work Hamilton Medical Center and Dr. Gregory began so many years ago. Today, this annual event remains a symbol of our shared commitment to fostering healthy lifestyle and environment changes through collaboration and positive action.
LIFESTYLE & ENVIRONMENT (2025 THEME)
Each year, Live⁴It Community introduces a new health and wellness theme, launching it at the Bill Gregory Health Care Classic. In 2025, our focus is on Lifestyle & Environment (mind, body, spirit, and surroundings). This year’s “70/30” theme highlights research on longevity: over 70% of our lifespan is influenced by lifestyle and environment, while less than 30% is attributed to genetics. This message brings hope: we can impact our lifespan!
We also anticipate significant student engagement and are excited to launch the Live⁴It Kids website, encouraging kids to discover their inner SUPERPOWER. Therefore, this year’s BGHCC will have a superhero flair. We encourage those participating to decorate their tents to reflect Lifestyle & Environment and our Superhero theme!
Together, we believe in the power of “one goal and one message” to help our community live longer, healthier, and happier lives. Each of us plays a vital role in our community’s journey to improve its health and wellness trajectory.

GET INVOLVED
Students, Faculty, Staff and Parents:
- Register: Our participation continues to grow year-after-year. Encourage your students, faculty, staff and parents to register for the race, or contact us if you are interested in paying for registrations.
- Volunteer: Our race is heavily dependent on volunteers.
- Purchase: Food and merchandise will be available for purchase at the event. Cash, credit cards and vouchers will be accepted.
Superintendents and Principals:
- Student Scholarships: For greater student engagement, we’re encouraging our community to Sponsor a Student to help needs-based students that might not otherwise attend. As funds become available, we will contact Superintendents (or their designees) for fund distribution.
- Volunteer: This is a perfect opportunity for students, track/sports teams, cheerleaders, bands, art students, faculty, staff and parents to volunteer for the race or participate in event activities. If you have a group of students that would like to showcase their talents, please contact us to explore opportunities.
- Exhibit: Education is a cornerstone of health, wellness, and longevity, so we are offering each school system an opportunity to exhibit at the 2025 event (free of charge). As an Exhibitor, you’re not only supporting the annual event, but you are also spreading a message of encouragement to your students. Note: Exhibitor participation is limited, so apply soon! Exhibitors will be bound by the Official Terms and Conditions of the event, and Live⁴It Community, in its sole and absolute discretion, may limit participation in the event.
AWARDS
Schools with the highest levels of participation (registrations and volunteering) will be honored at the event and have the privilege of displaying the Lifestyle & Environment “School Strength” Trophy in their school until next year’s Bill Gregory Health Care Classic!
